Let’s get real.

Our approach to the creative process starts with an understanding of how people think, act, and feel. Getting personal may not be easy, but it works. We believe the humanization of brands and relationship building qualities of today’s marketing and advertising requires a thoughtful approach. We understand that authenticity matters, people still value quality, and loyalty is earned.

owner & creative director

I have been drawn to creative thinking and design for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and ventured East to receive my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. Soon after graduating, I decided to head back West to start my career in design and coach volleyball for my alma mater – I’ve always enjoyed good strategy and healthy competition. 2009 was a busy year. I married the love of my life, had my first of three amazing kids and founded D. Studio 21 with the vision of creating a business that reflected both my love of design and passion for strategy. With lots of support from my family, our wonderful clients and my dedicated and talented employees, I believe I have done just that.

I am a graphic designer currently living in Portland, Oregon by way of Mississippi. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2011. It’s not by chance that I ended up working in the cute little town of Washougal, Washington as I was raised my whole life in a small town before moving to Portland to pursue my degree and career. Just like any good southern boy I love my mama, all things paper (especially the smell), spacious and fresh design, and my tea a little on the sweet side.

When I’m not trying new food, spending time with my two kids, or catching up with family in Korea, I am creating organization out of chaos. I believe design, at its most basic level, is problem-solving, and I’ve always loved creating beautiful experiences out of ideas. Because of my love for design and problem solving, I attended the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2011. Shortly after graduating, I joined up with D Studio 21 to become the brains behind the user experience.
